the "dan dan" noodles was very very good as an apptz. the spicy szechuan chicken was very tender and flavorful. i would recommend all of their chicken dishes as they use a special kind of chicken that's more tender and flavorful than any of the chinese restaurants i've been to. if you like spicy then this restaurant's a MUST in nyc...

I'm meeting someone for drinks who commutes out of GCT. I remember meeting someone else on another occasion at a bar / restaurant with kind of a Latin theme, I think. The food is a non-issue but what I liked about the place was the reasonable noise-level and relatively spacious seating.

The Brazen Head at 228 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn now carries Beleza de Minas artisanal cachacas. These are "cachacas de Minas" made in a small alembic (pot still). Two varieties are available, silver and gold. The gold is aged in umburana wood giving it a very distinctive flavor and smoothness.
