We ate at Aldine last night -- after a little confusion about opening the mysterious black door without a sign! (but with a menu posted -- no name). The very handsome modern room -- up a steep flight of steps -- was comfortable and the staff very welcoming. We both had the sunchoke soup, which was delicious.

Philadelphia is arguably the biggest beer geek haven in America outside, maybe, Portland, Oregon. Belgian beer bars are so common here as to become yawn-worthy, and even blue-collar neighborhood pubs have cask ale.

If you want to experience true Kerala food, then I would strongly recommend finding an authentic Kerala restaurant instead of South indian restaurant. I strongly believe, the so called South indian restaurants cannot do justice to the food.
Best place to wait for your rental to be ready: Quagmires, MP 8 on the beach road. Generous drinks and oceanfront deck make this a great stop. Best lunch: Outer Banks Brewing Station, MP 9 or 10 on the highway. Really innovative menu, great wine list for the area, and good beer. But when you order the bitter, take the name into account!

This year's trip to India takes me back to Jaipur, for the first time since 1998. I'm there for a week, with no other stops in India, so please stick to Jaipur rec's only if you have them! (howler, this is really a plea to you in case you can pull off the same chow-networking magic that you did for me in Pune two years ago!)

As a former zing employee I have to say that it is well worth the trip (about 40 min. from Southfield). I still long for a zing sandwich at least once a week while sitting in nyc the place where all the "great" delis are. I could go on and on about how great this place is for service and selection, but I am biased. I deeply miss the place. -r.l.

Career demands are taking us from Northern California to the Raleigh-Durham area, a totally unfamiliar region. This being the Chowhound Board, I can freely confess that good food is a critical part of our lives, and it is with some trepidation that we leave the culinary bounty around San Francisco.

So I just made it out to this wonderful Keralan joint on High St North per the recommendation of my bank clerk. Yeah, the guy who I got at HSBC while upgrading my savings account just so happened to be Malayalam and just so happened to give me this place. Much thanks to you Thomas.
was here with some friends, who ordered every kebab dish, some dal and the sukha gosht. as usual, the seekh kebabs were excellent - but the others were actively avoidable, sad to say. i still don't get the dried out chicken tikkas, the bland lamb chops .. even the sukha (dry) lamb dish, which had nice overtones of amchur, suffered from the use of lamb rather than goat.
I became an Aburi sushi fan upon eating at Miku! I enjoy traditional sushi (and have enjoyed numerous visits to Yasu and others), but I also like some added "interest" as well, and I had some of, if not the most delicious sushi morsels I've ever eaten at Miku.
