My husband and I are in the process of buying our first house. The kitchen leaves much to be desired but we went in expecting to buy new countertops and -most important - a new stove/range. Gas Range without exterior exhaust? - Cookware - Chowhound

I don't want to burn off the plastic in my house, and don't feel like disconnecting the propane and trying to rig it up the range outside to burn it off out there, and besides, two of the burners were shot. I really like the pro style ranges like Bertazonni or American because i don't like all the electronic crap that most cheaper ranges have now.

Smeg range - a worthwhle risk? - Cookware - Stoves - Chowhound

About us: we cook almost every day, but we've always dealt with low-end ranges in rental units. We make jam, beer, can tomato sauce, you name it. The 36" will be a dream for our big canning pots. But we simply can't afford the Capital or a blue star. Looking forward to the wisdom of the group. We need to make a decision quickly. Thanks!

I own both All Clad d5 and Thermo Clad--often having trouble choosing between them. If you go Demeyere for a pan, I'd suggest that you consider the 11" pro line 7 pli with helper handle (sometimes sold as Atlantis). I think you should purchase at least one Dutch Oven for one pot meals.

It's supposed to be 'no name brand' but commercial quality cookware. How does it compare to , say, All-Clad, which I have some of and like , just dont feel like shelling out $100 every time I want or need a new fry pan or sauce pan. Was looking at some Cuisinart on eBay when I spotted this NSF stuff, which is also on Amazon and other sites.
