I also cannot login to that account on the Pokemon website. People have been saying that logging in through the trainer club account will provide additional benefits in the future, such as codes and other extras. Apparently, you can't keep one account and switch interchangeably from a google login to a trainer club login - can anyone confirm this?

I've yet to see proof that one will provide anything over the other. The app itself asks if you want promos and newsletters sent to your email. I'd hope that it would be he same promos to everyone. Also hope that if that isn't the case we can link the to out PTC accounts considering PTC was undergoing maintenance when Go launched.

From what I've read, it's two separate accounts. Progress won't be lost if you make a new account. I did by accident the one day and I thought I lost all my progress from my PTC account but found out that's not true
First the rockstar social club account has nothing to do with your character your character information it's stored on rockstar cloud service which synchs with your psn id not the account the account is there so that you view stats and participate on events.
