It would take an hour of random fights to earn as much so to level up in the game as early as possible they were neccessary. Now you can earn almost as much for one fight as a substory. Note that you can catch him off guard and jump over him to attack him from above. The first time you do this he won't block your attack, but he will after you've engaged him. It's not a bad idea to farm this enemy here, it gives 40 Geo and you can fight it over and over again, just don't go overboard, Geo will be plentiful later in the game.
