I feel the need to tell any of you of an unfortunate experience I had at the Radisson hotel in Green Bay Wisconsin. I won't bore all of you with the nightmarish details, but last month I attended a wedding there -- the food was poorly cooked, served cold, and worst of all, the catering staff / kitchen failed to serve what the Bride ordered.

If you want to experience true Kerala food, then I would strongly recommend finding an authentic Kerala restaurant instead of South indian restaurant. I strongly believe, the so called South indian restaurants cannot do justice to the food.

But when it comes to open air markets, "certified" farmer's markets (CFM) are always expensive - 2, 3 or 4 times more than grocery stores. Today FoodMax was selling green bell peppers for 39 cents each and red for $1.48lb. Winco had green for 58 cents and red for 68 cents each. At the CFM in Marin and the Ferry Plaza in SF bell peppers are $5.99lb.

As a former zing employee I have to say that it is well worth the trip (about 40 min. from Southfield). I still long for a zing sandwich at least once a week while sitting in nyc the place where all the "great" delis are. I could go on and on about how great this place is for service and selection, but I am biased. I deeply miss the place. -r.l.

Career demands are taking us from Northern California to the Raleigh-Durham area, a totally unfamiliar region. This being the Chowhound Board, I can freely confess that good food is a critical part of our lives, and it is with some trepidation that we leave the culinary bounty around San Francisco.
This year's trip to India takes me back to Jaipur, for the first time since 1998. I'm there for a week, with no other stops in India, so please stick to Jaipur rec's only if you have them!
