First of all the shopping is a lot better in this town. Make your way straight up from the entrance and go into the first house with the pink roof. This is the "Jam Store" and they sell all kinds of jam (you'll find that relatively useless items are quite commonplace in Star Ocean: The Second Story.)

They descend down. The red one, wants you to leave, and the green one, says for the red one not to speak harshly. The green one asks nicely for them to leave, and the 'ones from the other world'. I *highly* recommend you take time to use the Private Action guide at the end of this walkthrough periodically as you do the Private Actions in the game. Do not ignore Private Actions; while optional they are an integral part of the game, and there are many events, items, and party members you will never see without doing them.

Go back West into the hall with the two mages, one of the South walls has a crack you can break through. Go South and activate the switch on the statue. Now return North, then West. The blocks at the bottom of this hall are now moving, return to save your game then come back and head through the door on the left under the blocks. Watch the scene.
Egras tells you to go to the castle town, since the newest information and weapons should be there. Celine adds that you should stop by Ringa to try and get the book you found translated. You ask what Ringa is and Celine tells you that it is a town famous for its scholars. Egras tells you to go to Racool castle first.
There's a Signet Card: Angel Feather in the corner of this room. There are a few more enemies through the door on the west. Continuing on there's a room with doors on all 4 sides. On the north are treasure chests with Attack Seeds and Intelligence Seeds. The room to the south is empty.
You will encounter some new monsters in this area, too. When you defeat a Spirit Priest, you will obtain Weapon Data 136: Comet Hammer.The Mining Points have Coal in this area, too, and sometimes offer Aluminum, a key ingredient to make Edge's Venom Sword and Reimi's Composite Bow.. You can see the Purgatorium up the hill, but before going inside, take the western path down to the shore.
Now you can open the door on the far left-hand of the fifth floor. However, in order to get here, you will have to backtrack all the way back to the first floor, then go down the stairs on the northwest end of the room. Use Security Card B to open the door, and into the room with the switch.

I normally have Shadow Wave > Mirror Slice on Nel. It's doing good damage, but so far Shadow Wave tends to knock enemies that are not Thunder Flared down, making Mirror Slice miss the mark.
I wanna point out that getting the timing right for Shadow Wave into Mirror Slice is pretty tricky. You have to time Mirror Slice so that it comes out after the first hit (launcher) from Shadow Wave, but before the second hit (downer). If you have difficulty getting the timing down, just use Shockwave or Charge.
