First of all the shopping is a lot better in this town. Make your way straight up from the entrance and go into the first house with the pink roof. This is the "Jam Store" and they sell all kinds of jam (you'll find that relatively useless items are quite commonplace in Star Ocean: The Second Story.)
I *highly* recommend you take time to use the Private Action guide at the end of this walkthrough periodically as you do the Private Actions in the game. Do not ignore Private Actions; while optional they are an integral part of the game, and there are many events, items, and party members you will never see without doing them.

Don't do it! 3) Books made by Publishing can alter the affection level to a fixed level. Each character can write 2 books, the common one that alters friendship and a rare one that alters passion. Having another member read the book that one member of the party wrote would alter their affection depending on which book it is.

The Ogre hits like a truck, is aggressive, and fast. The best way to win here is evade the Ogre and spam Helmetbreak until it's over. If you lose then you miss out on a valuable item and will have to fight a Shielder to get back in to the finals.
Go back West into the hall with the two mages, one of the South walls has a crack you can break through. Go South and activate the switch on the statue. Now return North, then West. The blocks at the bottom of this hall are now moving, return to save your game then come back and head through the door on the left under the blocks. Watch the scene.
At this point, you can make the rest of the game comparatively easy, should you wish. Go back and give Misty Lia the Soul Stone; with her, you should now be able to create an Orihalcon via Alchemy (with cost around 5000 Fol).
There's a Signet Card: Angel Feather in the corner of this room. There are a few more enemies through the door on the west. Continuing on there's a room with doors on all 4 sides. On the north are treasure chests with Attack Seeds and Intelligence Seeds. The room to the south is empty.
***Warning! The Ultimate Bombs can be extremely useful in Synthesis, so don't use them!*** Speak to Jasmine again and you will get another quest: [The Second Errand]. They descend down. The red one, wants you to leave, and the green one, says for the red one not to speak harshly. The green one asks nicely for them to leave, and the 'ones from the other world'. Iria and Ratix (from the other (furture) worlds) are suprised that they know that. The yellow, explains how, that there is a disturbance in the axis.

Now you can open the door on the far left-hand of the fifth floor. However, in order to get here, you will have to backtrack all the way back to the first floor, then go down the stairs on the northwest end of the room. Use Security Card B to open the door, and into the room with the switch.

P.S.S. This is my full code list for Star Ocean 2. Some of these codes are official Code Breaker codes but the rest are all created by me. I've seen codes like some of these online but I don't really have any idea if my versions are the same. If so, credit goes to the original creators of these codes whoever they may be. In fact, I don't give a rat's ass if you credit me for any of the ...
I wanna point out that getting the timing right for Shadow Wave into Mirror Slice is pretty tricky. You have to time Mirror Slice so that it comes out after the first hit (launcher) from Shadow Wave, but before the second hit (downer). If you have difficulty getting the timing down, just use Shockwave or Charge.
I normally have Shadow Wave > Mirror Slice on Nel. It's doing good damage, but so far Shadow Wave tends to knock enemies that are not Thunder Flared down, making Mirror Slice miss the mark.
The two other options you could consider are Poison Cloud and Shockwave. Both of these have miserable range, so you don't need to worry about AAA whatsoever (for Shadow Wave, you'll need to start from a good distance since Nel creeps forward in the animation). Poison Cloud requires the least amount of Fury, but it's pretty slow.
