Go to your inventory and find your Mortar and Pestle, Retort, Alembic, and Calcinator. Hit A to pick one. From there, just hit A to add ingredient,and pick one from the list. Then go down to Add ingredient again and hit A. If anything can be combined with the other ingredient you have selected, it will say so.
