I had my laptop up and ps4 on and was able to sign into the Madden servers within 15 seconds of me signing into origin so I don't think it was just a coincidence. all ea servers were down yesterday not just maddens. an easy way to check is by going to help.ea.com where the have server status.

UbiSoft has received quite a lot of heat from their “UPlay” DRM system that’s been in use for several years on the console and PC. This system, which does provide some meager rewards to users who register for the site, is basically a secondary online authentication system for UbiSoft’s games.
You need an internet connection and a psn account and during the main menu of mercs 2 in the top right corner of the screen it will say your being connected and then you are connected to the EA servers :D
Still no connection to EA servers. Looked online and found solutions like setting the date back to 2005 on the calendar, clear the cache, all sorts of stuff but still no connection. Start chat with EA customer support and they say that this is an offline only game, that there is no online funcitonality. I am confident that they are wrong.
Gamingdutchman I completely agree, Ea sports is a damn disgrace. I have been having this problem for weeks now and EA has done absolutely nothing to fix it. Over on the official EA TW forums people have called tech support and they insist that it is not their servers even when it clearly is.
I have an Online Dynasty going with a friend of mine, and every day, I'm guaranteed to have at least one issue with connecting to the EA Servers to play the game. Today, I simply can't connect at all, and I've tried every possible solution. I've tried quitting and restarting. I've tried logging out of PSN then logging back on.
Well like I said when I play Mirrors Edge then I have no problems at all. As for The Sims 3, well I am completely unable to connect to the EA servers when playing The Sims 3. I find it strange that one EA game is able to connect while another EA game has problems. Very strange indeed.
