The WD Passport drive attached to my X has spent the last 4-5 years powered by my Xbox and runs fine. Actually this Seagate one actually powers on and off with my Xb1 and still crapped out. My WD one does not power down and has a constant power light on and works like a champ. Go figure.
Both are the same thing. Shame that they have a duopoly on the HDD business now a days. You can get a USB 3.0 enclosure and an Internal HDD for maybe the same price and have better performance.
WD has a local warranty depot for me so I can drop off failed drives. With Seagate, I have to mail in drives (at my cost). The other aspect is the warranty of replacement drives.
