- The barbarian rolls d12 for Hit Points instead of a Fighter's d10. (supposedly) Note: I created a fresh Barbarian in Shadows of Amn. They started at level 7 with a Constitution of 10 and 80 Hit Points-obviously more than the Fighter's 1d10 could have achieved.
At the very least, buy the Potion Bag from Sister Garlena. You don't have to fight anyone for this and it is more than worth the trip! The only downside to this strategy is having to keep track of the Ritual Scroll and the Vigil Stone so you can have them when you are ready to clean out the rest of the keep.

This class was a load of crap in Baldur's Gate 2, and it's a load of crap in the Enhanced Edition. Really, Overhaul Games? The Baldur's Gate 2 Tweak Pack fixed this and you couldn't/wouldn't? Maybe the Werewolf/Greater Werewolf shapeshift in Baldur's Gate 2 wasn't nerfed... maybe it was canon. It was SUPPOSED to suck, sure.
Any overlap results in wasted points. On the other hand, one of the bonuses you will retain while dual-classing is Weapon Proficiency progression-a Fighter/Thief dual-class will, for example, still be able to attain Grand Mastery, a Ranger/Cleric can attain Specialization, and so on.
