To acquire access to the wyrm's nest, you need something called a windvane which you acquire from the people in rabanastre after you present them with the medallion situation. they'll tell you of a plant with yellow leaves at a cliff in the westersand and then complete the windvane, be prepared for a battle with none other than a giant wyrm.
