Hi all, I'm intrigued by Demeyere's "Controlinduc" nonstick pans (out of my price range though so really just curious) and noticed that the ones they sell in the US use a grey thermolon coating, whereas ones sold in Europe all seem to have a black coating with the cringe-worthy name "ecoslide duraglide ultra."

I own both All Clad d5 and Thermo Clad--often having trouble choosing between them. If you go Demeyere for a pan, I'd suggest that you consider the 11" pro line 7 pli with helper handle (sometimes sold as Atlantis). I think you should purchase at least one Dutch Oven for one pot meals.

If you compare specific heat capacities (heat holding ability), titanium is excellent, better than cast iron, but a little over half that of aluminum.

It's supposed to be 'no name brand' but commercial quality cookware. How does it compare to , say, All-Clad, which I have some of and like , just dont feel like shelling out $100 every time I want or need a new fry pan or sauce pan. Was looking at some Cuisinart on eBay when I spotted this NSF stuff, which is also on Amazon and other sites.
