The path to the north is blocked, so you can only go southwest to yet another area. In this area, you will see several empty blocks and thin tower-like structures. In the southwest corner, there is a tree stump, so toss the babies in. In this circular path, defeat the enemies and hit the fire-filled blocks to fill the blocks above ground.
Oho Ocean ----- Out on the open ocean, you can move pretty much anywhere you want on the surfboard. Jump to hit the blocks with some Coins in each overhead, as you move around. If you wish, head out to the east and south a bit until you come to a small island (on the map, it'll show you as being south of Oho Oasis).

I don't think a remake in the style of the first two games would do very well. It's certainly possible, but I think the likeliest outcome is a game that, while good, won't be able to live up to people's hyped-up opinion of the second game, in particular.
