I'm not liking the lack of ammo in this game, has anyone found out if there's anyway to use console or any cheats yet? I may resort to modifying a save game with a hex editor if it comes to it, my game isn't wanting to alt-tab correctly or I would try out making a cheat engine table.

At the Armory level, after meeting Andrew the Blacksmith, you have access to ammo and two guns at his shack. You can pick them up, trade them at the weapon shop for a "Duplet" for a 100-200 bullets profit, giving you enough money to buy the best weapons available, a suit, and load up on ammo.
There's a body with some ammo and 5 MGBs in a corner room. *** SECTION D: FADING TO BLACK *** There are a couple of paths we can take to go down and out of the base at this point: the stairs where we grabbed some ammo (2.7) or the hole near where we killed the two guards after coming back from the top floor (2.8). Either works.

On top of that, the level of interactivity is terrible: very few things can be opened or searched, and the majority of people you meet are little more than mannequins, who won't speak or react to you in any way. Probably the worst thing about Metro 2033, though, is that it's not in the slightest bit optimised.

The sinners in the mouths of Satan are Brutus and Cassius in the left and right mouths, respectively. In the central, most vicious mouth is Judas Iscariot—the namesake of this zone and the betrayer of Jesus.
You can also get Heavy Shields and Winged boots from the guards in the Dancer's town. They're only 4 star ratings, so definitely easier than the fight with the barmaid and the guy that drops Assassin's dagger.
