Gyarados - Though Gyarados was snubbed of the "Dragon" type it deserved, it still is a strong, versatile pokemon. Bite can deal lots of damage, Dragon Rage deals a dependable 40 HP per use, Hydro Pump is practically a one-hit KO, and Hyper Beam is the ultimate attack. Aerodactyl - Extremely fast and strong.

Same with Charmander, who can't be harmed super-effectively yet, although he has no Fire moves so you're okay to send Bulbasaur in. Just mash away and you should emerge victorious. ___ I admit that this battle is a bit unfair and that you'll probably have to grind on wild Pokemon a bit to win.

The gym will reopen later, so let's give it some time and train a bit. Go back to the heart of the town and this time, take the West exit after buying about 5-10 Pokeballs if you can afford it. The Pokemon's status can also affect the difficulty of capturing it. Try to get it to fall asleep or even better, frozen (I'll explain those in a bit). Any other status will work fine but with these two, the Pokemon doesn't have a chance of fainting itself and can not attack. Remember that some Pokemon may be holding items that will help them.

There are two versions you can play, simulating the two versions playable via other gaming...

Besides that, a couple typos have been fixed, NB stuff updated, right.
The trick to finding it is to run around and spark a few random battles, travelling back and forth along major routes until you get lucky and it appears. Keep in mind that if you fight one of the legendary dogs and you fail to capture it (unless you knock it out) you will be able to track its location and movement using your PokéDex.
