There's a pretty big Korean super market called Lotte that is within walking distance of the White Flint metro station. I haven't been there for a year or so, but, as I remember, it's about a ten minute walk from the station. You may want to double check on the WMATA website (wmata.com), just in case I'm underestimating it.

Or you can ride out to Vienna and catch a bus to the Super H Mart, which many folks believe is superior to the closer-in Merrifield store. Go to H Mart's website to get specific location information. And then WMATA.com's rider tools to find the best way to get there.
It's possibly the last "service" we still expect and take for granted. I used to prefer to self-bag because generally found it quicker, but many cashiers now automatically bag as they scan the items and it can be a very efficient process. Besides. don't necessarily assume that self-bagging is always going to be quicker.

Having spent a short time in Kerala, the Kerala Market caught my eye while I was wandering around Montrose looking for that Hungarian restaurant I remembered (turned out to be Magyar Csarda, now out of business). It was closed so I wasn t able to check it out carefully but I think it is just a small food market with no prepared foods.

Heritage India is our favorite Indian place. They have a restaurant in DC in Glover Park (2400 Wisconsin Ave. NW -- the closest metro is Dupont Circle, but there are lots of buses/cabs that would get you closer; see wmata.com).
