Not an Outer Boroughs response strictly speaking but the kimchi at Gam Mee Ok on W. 32nd St in Manhattan is the best I've had in the area and sounds like it would do the trick. That said, no idea if they'll sell it separately. Definitely worth inquiring if you're flexible as to location.

We have three staff members from India, and I asked them where their favorite place to get Indian food in Columbus was. All three independently told me (after saying that nothing was as good as being home) that Amul India is their fave in town. Two of them took me to dinner there, and I agree that it was wonderful.
The new restaurant in Avon is the Taste of India - same owners as the one in West Hartford. We have eaten @ the West Hartford location 3 times, but find the spices to be rather tame.
