While exploring the outside world (anywhere except cities, dungeon interiors etc.) My game tends to crash constantly. Its as if the graphics in some areas are too much for my rig, and it can't take it any more so it crashes.
I tried lowering the specular distance and still no luck. It is now also happening in random combat situations, so apparently it is not limited to the areas I mentioned before. I am wondering if it is a sound issue. It seems like sometimes the grunts that enemies make when hit causes it or maybe the sound the oblivion gate portal's make.
I recently installed a mass of popular mods and have been having nothing but crashes and crashes ever since. I don't know if this is the proper forum to report such things, but if it is, it would be great if you guys could help me out.

after 400 hours spent with moderate mods on skyrim and dragonborn, i had only a handful of CTD's and freezes. on solstheim i've had about 20 in the few hours i've been able to play of it and i'm starting to lose my patience. i installed latest drivers, cut down mods, nothing has worked. absolutely ridiculous. any ideas i haven't found via google search?
