I found a MS help page that showed how to delete the profile and ONLY the profile, leaving saved games and thankfully it didn't delete them and thankfully the game saves must be tied to the XBL account and not the gamertag, coz when I downloaded the new profile, and I looked at the game save, it showed my new gamertag as the owner. so that's good.
