Icarus against mass dart streamer Sparrow waves is extremely annoying. Sometimes, you may wish to reserve a VL or 2 in such waves such that you can use Vorpal Wake to do an emergency cut-through of darts since the response time can often be pretty short. However, it is still best to use TP to get out of it where possible.
Trireme succeeds in dart dodging very well due to its TP. A very common technique to employ is to go to the upper corner of the field, swipe across from one end to another, and then TP down. This distracts dart turrets to fire upwards instead of downwards. This technique is very useful when the screen is getting flooded by MIRVs and shurikens.
When the dangerous turret fires, retreat. This is however, difficult if there are dart tracking turrets around. Because lasers in General/Boomerang missions can track rather fast, TP is also a means to escape these lasers by TP-ing to the opposite side.
In a medium magic server, they will hold their own and can do even great things as long as their spells are not nerfed (which happens on A LOT of servers). Bards bring some great buffs and debuffs with their music and are a great multiclass to have. If spells are not nerfed, being an IGMS Sorc with max spell is youch.
