New to monster hunter games in general, only played MHW for ~62 hours and currently HR 13. I wonder if I should buy Iceborne expansion on release date or wait till I'm ready for it? I think I've enough time to finish main story, but won't have good/best end game gear (how many hours required for those?), does is matter though?

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is a perfect expansion and worth every penny. The new content is substantial, but the sheer amount of improvements, extensions to existing ideas and game changing additions offered up alongside the new area and monsters makes it so easy to recommend.
Yeah it takes a while to get from farming one monster to another, though if you stick to focusing on the desert while doing a bit of stuff in the forest if anything cool pops up you should be able to keep both regions leveled - my forest and desert are both level 6 right now, so it's definitely reasonable to keep two regions up there, just ...

As far as how many hunters exist in G-rank (what MR essentially is) I'd say canon it's far closer to 1%. It's always been treated as a super exclusive club and "the guys you call for when things are really, really bad." Thus I'd say HR is probably around the 20-40% range, probably on the lower end.

As a game, Monster Hunter: World is still incredible, but the PC release can only be considered definitive for a relatively small number of power users with top-shelf GPUs and zippy processors. While everyone with a recent PC and decent graphics card can make the game work, for many players the best experience may still be on console.
