You'll have to buy a card and send him the code. I asked Microsoft to add an option to gift people currency on Xbox Live through their Request a Feature forums but apparently not that many people want that option for some reason.

It wasn't activated by the store. Purchasing it does not itself activate it, they have to input some crap into there system to activate it, so take it back to the store and make them activate it.
Hi everyone, so I just got off a live chat with Microsoft and I asked them if it was possible to have two Xbox One in the same household for my brother and I and only having one of our accounts have the Xbox Live Gold Subscription and be able to share it to the other console as well.
Seeing quite a few reports and some articles on this and am staying away entirely as much as I want one. Dont get me wrong, this and 360 have been my favorite consoles but hands down this has been THE WORST console I've ever owned in about 34 years of gaming when it comes to controller quality control.
