It will be interesting to see how this plays out. It seems the usual approach in the life cycle of a commercial/retail property. Long after the high rent retail tenants have moved on, independent retailers lease space to serve specialized clientele.
At her NYC chocolate shop Stick With Me Sweets, Susanna Yoon (formerly of Per Se) makes edible miniature works of art. These colorful, marbleized, portable chocolate domes are packed with the flavors and textures of some of Susanna’s favorite desserts, which include a kalamansi meringue pie, and the vero, a silver blue bonbon that houses a mix of sea salt caramel and crunchy pecan bits.

If you want to experience true Kerala food, then I would strongly recommend finding an authentic Kerala restaurant instead of South indian restaurant. I strongly believe, the so called South indian restaurants cannot do justice to the food.

Best place to wait for your rental to be ready: Quagmires, MP 8 on the beach road. Generous drinks and oceanfront deck make this a great stop. Best lunch: Outer Banks Brewing Station, MP 9 or 10 on the highway. Really innovative menu, great wine list for the area, and good beer. But when you order the bitter, take the name into account!

As a former zing employee I have to say that it is well worth the trip (about 40 min. from Southfield). I still long for a zing sandwich at least once a week while sitting in nyc the place where all the "great" delis are. I could go on and on about how great this place is for service and selection, but I am biased. I deeply miss the place. -r.l.

Career demands are taking us from Northern California to the Raleigh-Durham area, a totally unfamiliar region. This being the Chowhound Board, I can freely confess that good food is a critical part of our lives, and it is with some trepidation that we leave the culinary bounty around San Francisco.
This year's trip to India takes me back to Jaipur, for the first time since 1998. I'm there for a week, with no other stops in India, so please stick to Jaipur rec's only if you have them! (howler, this is really a plea to you in case you can pull off the same chow-networking magic that you did for me in Pune two years ago!)

Honestly I would not have a complaint in the world if the so called "Sushi" places were to be more honest and call their brand of cuisine something else. Otherwise it's akin to a cultural theft of sorts, committed under the lazy belief that it's fixed to be a zero-sum game fought between preserving old traditions and forming new ones.
